CARAFA is an authentic 17th century residence located in the heart of Valletta.

CARAFA is a magnificent 17th century residence located in the heart of Valletta.

The house can accomodate groups of between 4 to 11 persons. It consists in 4 bedrooms : a quadruple suite, triple suite, a double bedroom and a twin room, all with private en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning and desk.

All rooms boast award-winning designer furniture which allows the space to be modified according to the number of guests and their preferences. The property also includes a kitchen, TV area and dining area to make you feel truly at home.

 

Art and Design Concept

French artist and designer Julien Vinet was entrusted with the artistic vision for Carafa Valletta Residence. It is inspired by the spirit of the Renaissance period : drawing inspiration from the past with an eye on the future.

Each room provides a unique experience and design concept, ranging from vintage charm to contemporary minimalism via avant-garde and steampunk styles.

This unique fusion of styles will intrigue your senses and stimulate your imagination to provide you with a unique experience in a vibrant European Cultural City.

History

The residence is housed within the magnificent Palazzo Carafa. It was built in the 17th century as the private residence of Fra Gregorio Carafa, Grand Master of the Order of Saint John (1680 – 1690).

At Carafa Valletta Residence you will have the unique opportunity of experiencing the unique sleeping quarters where the illustrious Grandmaster used to host and entertain his distinguished guests.
